Plymouth Rock Chapter Order of DeMolay is extending an invitation to all past members of Plymouth Rock DeMolay to come and celebrate our renewed commitment to the youth of this community. Come and meet the next generation of young leaders. Plymouth Rock Chapter Order of DeMolay will hold its first meeting in 30 years at 7PM on May 22, 2002 at the Plymouth Masonic Lodge at 116 South Meadow Rd., in Plymouth. It would establish a great mark in the history of Plymouth Rock to have past members at our first meeting. A symbolic passing of the Crown of Youth from our hands to our sons. Today, with the help of adult leaders like Steve Blanchard and many others, DeMolay is coming back to Plymouth and a lot of other communities throughout the United States and 12 other Countries world wide.

What is DeMolay?

DeMolay's Mission
DeMolay is the premier youth organization dedicated to teaching young men to be better persons and leaders. DeMolay is a club for young men from 12-21 years old. DeMolay members run the show -- they decide what they want to do, when they want to do it, and how they'll pay for it. Adult advisors exist to give advice, to provide rides, and to make sure everything the members want to do is safe and legal!
DeMolay is built on general principles designed to teach its members important life skills such as leadership, respect for themselves and others, and patriotism. Members aren't hammered over the head with these principles; rather, advisors and older members lead by example and teach these principles mainly by deeds and not words. Under the "advisorship" of adults; leadership skills, civic awareness, responsibility, and character development are learned through a variety of self directed, real world applications and activities. DeMolay builds confidence; teaches responsibility, cooperation and community service; and fosters trust, respect, fellowship, patriotism, reverence, and sharing.

Tomorrow's Leaders Today

The Order of DeMolay was started over 80 years ago in Kansas City, Missouri. DeMolay is a character building organization for young men who are twelve years to twenty-one years of age. In over 700 chapters throughout the United States, these young men have the opportunity to develop management, leadership and social skills as they participate in community projects, sports, and other educational programs. DeMolay Chapters exist in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Panama, Japan, Italy, and the Republic of the Philippines. Millions of young men have been members of DeMolay. Alumni members include men like John Wayne, Walt Disney, Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, and countless others. DeMolay's alumni are distinguished leaders including several U.S. senators, state governors, U.S. astronauts, professional athletes, and major U.S. corporation presidents.
DeMolay is dedicated to providing a safe environment in an organization for young men who govern and direct their own activities under the "advisorship" of adults. The organization develops leadership skills and character building in the young men who work within the organization. It helps members to develop civic awareness and responsibility.
DeMolay provides young men the opportunity to practice leadership techniques and the real world application of the same through its chapter activities.
The organization assists young men in growing into responsible adults with good moral character while providing them a place to go, to have fun, to enjoy companionship, and be accepted by peers while developing good solid values. DeMolay is not only teaching young people about the working tools of life, it is serving as the cornerstone of our next generation.
